Zack Wright hit a two-run home run and gunned down the potential tying run at the plate in the eighth inning to lead West Chester to a 5-4 victory over Franklin Pierce at the D-II Baseball Challenge at the U.S. Baseball Training Complex on Sunday.
Starter Gabe Rappa tossed six solid innings to improve to 3-0 on the year. He surrendered four runs on ten hits. He walked three and collected five strikeouts.
Justin Horn finished 2-for-4 with an RBI while eight of the nine batters in the starting lineup registered a hit.
The Rams are 8-2 on the season and will face Lock Haven this weekend.

Zack Austin whiffed 13 hitters over five innings and Efrain Santiago collected three RBIs to lead Jefferson (4-4) past Lincoln on Sunday, 11-4.
Austin's 13 strikeouts were the most by a Rams pitcher since Patrick Hohlfeld fanned 15 versus Goldey-Beacom on March 20, 2019.
Jefferson returns to action at home on Tuesday with a contest against Saint Thomas Aquinas.
