Brett Callahan of Saint Joseph's
A late rally came up short in the opener, and a five-run first in the nightcap proved too much to overcome as Saint Joseph's dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Cincinnati on Saturday.

The Hawks jumped ahead with two early runs in Game 1, but a six-run fourth inning put Cincinnati in control. The Hawks battled back with Nate Thomas delivering an RBI-double to drive in the tying run in the sixth, but a wild pitch by Hawks reliever David Owsik allowed the winning run to score in walk-off fashion for Cincinnati in a 7-6 contest.

Brett Callahan, Andrew Cossetti, and Thomas collected two hits each in the loss.

The Bearcats walloped the Hawks in the nightcap, 12-1.

Cincinnati pushed eight runs across over the first three innings in the win.

Callahan picked up two hits in the contest for the Hawks.

The two clubs conclude their weekend set on Sunday.
