Rams fall to Pierce
Franklin Pierce was able to handle West Chester, giving the Rams their first loss of the season on Friday at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, NC., 9-5.

Luke Cantwell and Mike Ferrara each hit home runs for the Rams, but a seven-run sixth inning proved to be too much to overcome.

Braeden Fausnaught collected nine strikeouts before being lifted after five innings. He surrendered one run on four hits. Andrew Cantwell took the loss, surrendering five runs while recording only one out.

Zack Wright and Corey Stoffer collected two hits each in the loss for the Rams. Ferrara finished the day with three RBIs.

The Rams return to action on Saturday with a doubleheader, facing The College of Saint Rose at 2:30 p.m. and then Frostburg State at 6:30 p.m.

The Rams entered the weekend ranked No. 22 in the most recent NBCWA poll.

In other D-II action
Chestnut Hill collected only six hits and lost to Florida Tech on Saturday, 16-2. John Con John Contoudis picked up an RBI for the Griffins with an RBI triple in the seventh. The Griffins continue their three-game set with Florida Tech on Saturday.
