Gwynedd Mercy pieced together a historic afternoon on Sunday, crushing Penn State York in Game 1 of a doubleheader, 26-1. 

The Griffins scored in every inning, including a 14-spot in the sixth. Brett Swire finished the game with seven RBIs while Billy Collins drove in five. 

Astoundingly, the Griffins collected just two extra-base hits on the day but took advantage of 14 walks and three errors. 

The 26 runs marked the fourth most in a contest for the Griffins dating back to 2010.

The Griffins completed the sweep in the nightcap, winning 7-3. Jake Martell led the offense, finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs. 

Gwynedd Mercy (7-8) returns to action on Tuesday with a visit to Delaware Valley. 

In other Philly D-III Action 
Penn State Abington dropped a pair of games on Sunday to Penn State Harrisburg. Ryan McCarty finished the day with two hits and three RBIs. Harrisburg won Game 1, 5-3. 

Gane 2 was a scoreless affair until the 11th when McCarty surrendered a solo walk-off shot. 

Abington (8-7) returns to action on Wednesday with a visit from York.
