Saint Joseph's swept a doubleheader over UMBC on Sunday, winning Game 1 by a 6-3 score before taking Game 2, 9-5.
Brett Callahan homered in Game 1, while Brendan Hueth chipped in with a go-ahead three-run double in the fifth. Luke Smith recorded the win, surrendering one unearned run over four frames. Alec Rodriguez tossed a scoreless seventh to record the save, his first of the season.
UMBC took an early lead with two in the first inning of Game 2, but the Hawks answered with six in the second to move in front.
Mike Falco picked up his second win of the season after tossing five and a third shutout innings in relief of starter Ryan Basarab.
Ryan Cesarini and Andrew Cossetti each notched three hits in the game and combined to drive in 10 runs, while Nate Thomas led the way with four runs scored after reaching base five times in the game.
The Hawks host Rutgers on Tuesday afternoon at Smithson Field.
