Chris Rotondo hit a pair of homers for Villanova, but it wasn't enough to lift the offense as the Wildcats fell to Pepperdine on Saturday, 6-4.
Rotondo finished the day with four RBI's.
The Wildcats carried a 4-1 lead into the eighth inning, but Pepperdine responded with a five-run frame to put the game out of reach.
In his Villanova debut, Cole Patten went 7 2/3 innings and struck out six batters with 81 total pitches. He also collected six strikeouts and didn't walk a batter.
The two clubs conclude their three-game set on Sunday.
