Weekend Preview
Here is a look across the Philadelphia college baseball scene for the weekend:

Division 1
The pandemic limited Penn to just a handful of games last season against regional rivals, so Friday carries some extra importance for the Quakers as the club opens the 2022 campaign with a three-game set with SEC-power Texas A&M.

The Quakers enter the season as a favorite to compete for the Ivy League title. The club returns three of their top four hitters in terms of batting average and OPS and eight of their top nine pitchers, in terms of both ERA and WHIP, from 2021.

Wyatt Henseler hit .365 and posted a .990 OPS, with eight of his 19 hits going for extra bases. He's considered to be one of the best talents in the Ivy League.

Tommy Courtney and Craig Larsen are another solid duo in the Penn lineup.

Senior right-hander Kevin Eaise will start Friday's opener. He led the club with 26 strikeouts over 26 innings last season. He finished the year 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA.

The Aggies are 4-0 on the season following a three-game sweep of Fordham and a mid-week win over Lamar. The series opener will be broadcast on ESPN+ with the first pitch at 3 p.m.;

Villanova (0-3) travels to Charleston, S.C. for a weekend set with The Citadel. The Wildcats were swept last weekend at Pepperdine. Danny Wilkinson aims to bounce back from a tough start last week against Pepperdine where he surrendered six runs over three innings in a 13-3 loss.

Saint Joseph's (2-1) visits UMBC on Saturday (3:00 pm) to open a three-game series. The clubs will play a doubleheader on Sunday. The Hawks two of three this past weekend against Quinnipiac.

Division 2
West Chester (3-0) and the University of the Sciences (2-2) will both be playing at Father Judge High School over the weekend. The Rams will play Pace on Saturday before facing the Devils for a doubleheader on Sunday. The Rams are 3-0 and have outscored their opponents 42-4 to open the season. The Devils split a pair of doubleheaders with Bloomsburg and are 2-2 on the year.

Chestnut Hill (0-0) opens their season with a Friday doubleheader against the University of Bridgeport at the Northeast Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The club will then face New Haven on Saturday and Southern Connecticut State on Sunday.

Division 3
Penn State Abington (2-0) will face Methodist on Friday, Hampden-Sydney on Saturday, and DeSales on Sunday. The Nittany Lions put up a historic showing last weekend, scoring 62 runs and 55 hits over the 18 innings. The 36 runs and 32 hits on Sunday shattered the previous school marks of 28 runs and 25 hits.

Arcadia (2-1) faces Washington College on Friday, Mary Washington on Saturday, and Stevenson on Sunday.

Eastern (0-0) will face Swarthmore (1-0) on Saturday. The Garnet beat Montclair St. last weekend with Luke Mutz leading the offense with four hits.

Immaculata (0-0) visits William Patterson for a doubleheader on Sunday to open their 2022 campaign.

Haverford (0-0) will open their season on Saturday with contests against Kean and Misericordia.

Widener (1-5) is in Davenport, Fla. for the weekend for the Russmatt Invitational. The Pride will face Calvin in a doubleheader on Saturday and Moravian on Sunday.

Rosemont (0-3) was swept by Gwynedd Mercy (2-1) in a doubleheader on Wednesday. The Ravens return to action Sunday to face Wilkes. The Griffins travel to Maryland for a doubleheader with Hood on Saturday.

Valley Forge (0-0) will face Lesley on Saturday for a doubleheader at Diamond Nation before playing a single game to conclude the series on Sunday.

Cairn (0-1) will also be at Diamond Nation this weekend, playing host to Houghton College.
