Cole Patten delivered another impressive performance on Saturday, tossing eight solid innings to lead Villanova to their first victory of the season in a 6-1 win over The Citadel. 

Patten surrendered just one run on two hits. He struck out six and walked just a pair. His ERA on the year sits at 0.57 over 15 2/3 innings. 

The Bulldogs scored their lone run in the third to take a 1-0 lead, but the Wildcats manufactured three runs in the fourth and never looked back. 

Joey Castellanos led the Wildcats at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Pat O'Neill and Connor Hale chipped in with a pair of hits each in the win. 

The two clubs will close out their three-game set on Sunday.
