WCU sweeps doubleheader

Luke Cantwell hit three home runs in the opening game of a doubleheader to lead West Chester in a doubleheader sweep over The College of Saint Rose at Shepherd Stadium in Dinwiddie, Va., on Saturday afternoon. 

The three dingers tied a program record. Joe Kaleck also homered in the contest for the Rams, helping put a five-spot up in the fifth to put Game 1 out of reach. The Rams won the contest, 8-0. 

Braeden Fausnaught tossed five strong innings in the opener and collected seven strikeouts. J.R. Gifford chipped in with two hits for the Rams in the win. 

The offense erupted for 18 runs in the nightcap en route to an 18-4 victory. 

Zack Wright, John DeMucci, and Sean Szestowicki homered in the win, while Keith Flaherty finished with four hits.
