Jefferson baseball
Jefferson kicked off conference play in commanding fashion on Friday, sweeping Lincoln in a doubleheader behind two stellar complete-game performances on the mound.

Albert Bobadilla was nearly untouchable in Game 1, tossing a no-hitter while striking out 11. The gem marked the program’s first no-hitter since Abraham Almonte accomplished the feat against Lincoln on April 3, 2015. With the win, Bobadilla improved to 3-0 on the season with a 2.45 ERA.

Danny Kerr followed with an equally dominant outing, racking up seven strikeouts in the nightcap to complete the sweep.

At the plate, Thomas Matuszewski had a monster day, going 6-for-9 with five runs scored and four RBIs. With the pair of victories, the Rams improved to 10-5 on the season, while Lincoln fell to 2-7. The two teams will play another doubleheader on Saturday.
