Swarthmore head coach Matt Midkiff knew this spring break trip in Lexington, SC. was going to be a challenge, but his club lived up to the hype on Saturday.

The Garnet opened their spring break trip with a double dose of high-stakes baseball on Saturday, splitting a pair with top-25 opponents. They dropped a heartbreaker to No. 16 Baldwin Wallace, 9-8, in 11 innings before bouncing back in style with a 9-5 win over No. 23 Case Western Reserve.

And if you're looking for the guys who made it happen? Start with Easton Tolson, who had himself a day. Two clutch, two-out, two-run singles? Check. A four-RBI performance in the win over Case Western? Also check.

Then there’s Max Roffwarg. The senior shortstop racked up four hits, four RBIs, and scored a pair of runs across the two games—because of course he did.

And don’t forget Noah Potholm, who was everything Swarthmore needed in the nightcap. Seven innings, 93 pitches, just what the bullpen needed.

So, after 20 innings, 22 runs, and one extra-inning thriller, Swarthmore left the field with a win over a ranked opponent and momentum heading into a Sunday contest against local rival Arcadia.

Elsewhere, Widener swept a doubleheader from Albertus Magnus. Trae Sanders tossed a gem in the first contest, surrendering three runs over six frames in a 14-3 win. Chris McKenna homered in the nightcap and finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Ursinus also swept a doubleheader on Saturday, taking a pair from Bridgewater State. The Bears are now 6-3 on the year. The club didn't hit the six-win mark until March 24 last year.
