Each week throughout the college baseball season, the Philadelphia Baseball Review recognizes standout performances across all divisions with our College Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, celebrating the region’s top talent and exceptional achievements.
This week’s D-I Philly Pitcher of the Week is graduate student Bobby Olsen. The right-hander delivered a stellar performance on Friday, pitching eight strong innings in a 2-1 loss at the University of South Florida. He allowed just five hits, two walks, and two runs while striking out four. By the time he exited after the eighth, Olsen had thrown 112 pitches (75 strikes) and retired the last seven batters he faced. Through four starts this season, he holds a 2-2 record with a 3.24 ERA, tallying 27 strikeouts over 25 innings.
Our Philly D-I Offensive Player of the Week is Gavin Collins, a sophomore outfielder at Penn. The Indiana native finished the weekend 6-for-17 (.353) with a pair of doubles, three runs scored, and three RBIs, providing a spark for the Quakers' offense.
For nearly a decade, the Philadelphia Baseball Review has been committed to covering college baseball across the region, shining a spotlight on the best amateur talent and their accomplishments.
