Jefferson
Sunday was a statement day for Jefferson. Two games. Two blowouts. A combined 29 runs. And a sweep of Wilmington that left no doubt about who controlled the diamond.

Game 1 started with a blip—a throwing error that gave Wilmington an early lead. That was cute. Then Jefferson turned it into a track meet. A six-run third inning, punctuated by a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and a three-run double from Javon Hernandez, flipped the game on its head. By the time Justin Espinal sent a two-run blast to right in the fifth, it was clear this was Jefferson’s day. Three more runs in the ninth put the exclamation point on a 13-2 rout.

If Game 1 was a beatdown, Game 2 was a demolition. Jefferson dropped five runs in the second, sparked by Joshua Lopez launching a three-run shot. The third inning brought another homer—this time from Thomas Matuszewski—and more Jefferson fireworks. Wilmington tried to claw back with a two-run homer of its own, but Jefferson swatted away the effort like an annoying gnat.

Then came the seventh inning—a seven-run avalanche that buried Wilmington for good. Errors, wild pitches, and relentless at-bats turned a comfortable lead into an outright landslide. When the dust settled, it was 16-2.

The Rams sit two games behind Goldey-Beacom in the CACC South Division --- and guess who has a four-game set scheduled for next weekend? That's right, the Rams and Lightning will battle in Philly on Saturday before heading to Wilmington on Sunday.
