The Philadelphia Baseball Review continues to recognize the region’s top collegiate baseball talent, and this week’s standout performances belong to Chestnut Hill’s Michael Pascoe and Jefferson’s Albert Bobadilla. Pascoe delivered a dominant two-way showing, while Bobadilla etched his name in program history with a no-hitter.
Pascoe’s Two-Way Brilliance Fuels Chestnut Hill
A force both at the dish and on the bump, Pascoe powered the Griffins to a 4-1 week. The sophomore infielder/pitcher batted .412 (7-for-17), slugged 1.000, and drove in nine runs, including six in a wild 12-inning, 18-12 win over Holy Family on Saturday. His week featured a double, three home runs, and a .545 OBP, showing his ability to deliver in big moments.
Pascoe also handled business on the mound, tossing seven strong innings in a 7-4 non-league win over Kutztown on March 11, proving his value as a legitimate two-way threat.
Bobadilla Tosses Jefferson’s First No-Hitter in a Decade
While Pascoe was raking, Albert Bobadilla was dealing. The graduate right-hander delivered one of the most dominant pitching performances in Jefferson’s recent history, throwing the program’s first no-hitter in nearly a decade during Friday’s 12-2 win over Lincoln.
Bobadilla struck out 11 and allowed just one walk in the seven-inning masterpiece, with five of his punchouts coming looking. Though two unearned runs crossed the plate, his command was never in doubt as he locked down the sweep for the Rams.
