Playing on their spring break training trip, Ursinus split a series with Kenyon College (4-1) on Monday afternoon, with junior pitchers impressively conceding just two runs collectively on the day.
The Bears faced a 2-1 defeat in game one against the Owls before rallying in the nightcap with a stellar 1-0 shutout victory to secure a series split.
In the opening game, junior Mike Scheller took the mound and, despite surrendering runs in the first two innings, showcased resilience by delivering four consecutive shutout frames. However, the Bears fell short, resulting in Scheller absorbing the loss.
In the subsequent game, junior David Morgan took over pitching duties and excelled, pitching seven shutout innings. Morgan allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out five Owls, securing his first win of the season.
The Bears (2-3) are scheduled to resume action tomorrow morning against Penn State Behrend in a single-game matchup commencing at 11 a.m.
Elsewhere, Matthew Sot had a strong performance, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a two-run homer, while Anthony Bruno contributed with a 2-for-4 outing, including two doubles and a sacrifice fly. Their efforts propelled No. 24 ranked Arcadia to a series win with a 10-7 non-conference victory over Penn State Harrisburg on Monday afternoon. The Knights return to action on Saturday in South Carolina when they face Case Western Reserve for a 5:00 p.m. non-conference game.

Tyler Warr remained hot at the plate for Cairn, collecting six hits, including a homer and four RBIs, as the Highlanders split a doubleheader with Manchester. The junior is hitting .727 through four games this season and is riding a 34 game hitting streak dating back to last year.
Eli Schooley pitched well in the opener, tossing six solid frames while surrendering one run on five hits.
