Jefferson (9-6) wrapped up a doubleheader showdown with Franklin Pierce University (6-7) on Sunday at Alumni Field, splitting the contests.

The Rams secured a 9-3 victory in the first game, but the Ravens bounced back to claim an 8-3 win in the nightcap.

In the opening contest, the Ravens seized an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning through a fielder's choice, wild pitch, and throwing error. Jefferson responded swiftly, with Gabe Silva crossing home plate on a throwing error, followed by another run courtesy of a wild pitch. The game was knotted at 3-3 in the third inning after Justin Egner's groundout to shortstop brought home Justin Espinal.

The Rams surged ahead in the fifth inning when Marquie Wood smashed a grand slam, propelling Jefferson to a 7-3 lead. Joshua Lopez's double down the left line extended the lead further, bringing Jay Kalieta and Espinal home.

Samuel Bass delivered a stellar performance on the mound, pitching a complete game with 12 strikeouts to secure the victory for Jefferson.

In the second game, the Rams struck first, with Wood's single to center field driving in Joshua Lopez in the second inning. Chris McLean's homer to left field doubled Jefferson's lead to 2-0.

However, Franklin Pierce rallied, scoring three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. They added another run in the fifth and extended their lead with four more runs in the sixth inning, going ahead 8-2.
McLean's single to center field in the bottom of the seventh inning brought Jordan Tiburcio home, but Jefferson's efforts fell short as a ground double play ended the game with an 8-3 loss.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will kick off Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play by visiting CACC South rival Goldey-Beacom College on Wednesday.
