Chestnut Hill Baseball
Chestnut Hill clinched their first doubleheader sweep of the season against the College of Staten Island at the CSI Baseball complex in Staten Island, New York, on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

With commanding scores of 12-5 and 12-2, the Griffins improved to 6-9 while the Dolphins fell to 5-10.

In the opener, Phoenix Bowman showcased his prowess at the plate, driving in three runs, supported by John Crane, Michael Pascoe, and Justin Geiger, who contributed two hits each. Rich Bonino earned his first win of the season on the mound, pitching five innings and allowing just two runs on seven hits, with two strikeouts.

The momentum continued into the second game as Bowman remained a standout player, tallying two hits and three RBIs, bringing his total for both games to six RBIs. He also showcased his speed with three stolen bases, while RJ Huth added two hits to the offensive effort.

The Griffins capitalized on the erratic pitching from CSI, drawing an impressive 15 walks in the game, just one shy of the school record set in 2018 against Lincoln.

On the pitching front, Dylan Broderick delivered a solid performance, earning his second win of the season with a 2-1 record. The freshman hurler dominated over six innings, allowing only one run on two hits while striking out nine.

The Griffins return to action on Sunday, hosting Lincoln at Hostelley field for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
