Penn (4-8) will face local rivals Villanova in their home opener on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Saint Joseph's took a one run lead in the ninth only to see it slip away in the bottom portion of the frame as the club fell to UNC-Wilmington on Sunday, 3-2.

Colin Yablonski took the loss without recording an out, surrendering the game-winner after allowing two hits, a walk, and a hit batter.

Fellow reliever Matt McShane had nine strikeouts for the Hawks in 3 2/3 innings of work. Justin Igoe and Ryan Picollo each homered for Saint Joseph's in the loss.

The Hawks (5-8) will visit Lehigh on Tuesday for a non-conference contest.

In other action, Villanova (5-8) closed out an impressive weekend sweep of Pepperdine on Sunday in Malibu, cruising to a 7-1 victory.
