Jefferson wins a pair
Zack Austin came through with a double in the 12th inning to score Lucas DeStefano and give Jefferson a walk-off 7-6 victory over Goldey Beacom at Alumni Field on Sunday.

Trailing by two in the home portion of the 12th, Alex Gonzalez opened the frame with a single to rightfield. Ryan Sawyer followed with a single to center that was bobbled, allowing Gonzalez to score. DeStefano followed with a single that allowed Sawyer to score to even the game at 2-2. Austin then doubled to centerfield later in the frame to win it for the Rams.

Austin finished 3-for-6 while DeStefano also collected three hits to go along with two RBIs.

Jem Sisco also had a day on the mound, surrendering two runs on three hits over five innings. He collected 14 strikeouts, marking a career-high.

Samuel Bass pitched well for Jefferson earlier in the day in Game 1 of the doubleheader, surrendering one run over six innings to help the Rams to a 9-3 victory.

Austin, Sawyer, and Efrain Santiago homered in the winning effort.

The Rams (17-15, 8-7) visit Saint Thomas Aquinas for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday.
