Danny Wilkinson notched 12 strikeouts in relief, but surrendered a two-out single in the ninth allowing Georgetown to push across the winning run as Villanova fell in the second game of their weekend set, 3-2.
Wilkinson started the ninth with a strikeout, but a double that ensued put the winning run in scoring position. A single two batters later gave the Hoyas a victory.
Chris Rotondo finished 1-for-4 at the plate for Villanova. Joey Castellanos and Cameron Hassert each drove in a run.
The two clubs will conclude their three-game set on Sunday.
