Saint Joseph's falls to George Mason
Luke Smith struggled out of the gate for Saint Joseph's, surrendering seven runs over two innings as the Hawks lost on Saturday afternoon to George Mason, 9-3. 

Smith surrendered seven runs on seven hits, allowing George Mason to take an early commanding lead. Liam Bendo and Luca Trigiani provided two hits each for the Hawks at the plate. Andrew Cossetti reached base three times via walks, and Brendan Hueth collected an RBI single in the fourth. 

Nicholas Torres was strong in relief for Saint Joseph's, tossing four shutout innings and allowing just two baserunners while striking out seven. 

The two clubs resume their three-game set on Sunday.
