Penn's Joe Miller was solid in his outing on Saturday against Cornell, tossing seven innings while surrendering one earned run as the Quakers defeated the Big Red at Meiklejohn Stadium, 10-4. Miller scattered five hits and collected seven strikeouts in the win. The performance dropped his ERA to 3.91 on the season and earned him D-I Pitcher of the Week honors from the Philadelphia Baseball Review.
The Hatboro resident and La Salle College High grad is 5-2 on the year and ranks second on the staff with 52 strikeouts over 46 innings.
The Quakers host Saint Joseph's on Wednesday in a non-conference tilt before resuming Ivy League play this weekend with a three-game set against Brown.
