Chic DeGaetano was outstanding for Villanova this past Tuesday, tossing seven solid innings in a shutout win over Lafayette.
The junior right-hander didn't surrender a run and allowed just one hit while collecting ten strikeouts. His performance earned him D-I Pitcher of the Week honors from the Philadelphia Baseball Review.
Villanova has now won five of its last six contests, including a 10-4 win over Bucknell on Tuesday. DeGaetano also started this contest, surrendering two runs over 6 2/3 innings. Chris Rotondo finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs while August Biggio delivered a two-run homer in the fourth.
The Wildcats are 12-16-1 overall on the season and 3-3 in the Big East conference.
The club will travel to Cincinnati on Thursday to open a three-game set with Xavier.
