Anthony Bruno's five RBIs a combined shutout from hurlers Will Conroy and Vinny Versaci propelled No. 20 Arcadia to a 7-0 victory over Ramapo in the 2024 NCAA Division III Baltimore Regional opener at Johns Hopkins on Friday afternoon.

Bruno led the Knights' offense with a two-run single in the third inning and a three-run homer in the fourth.

Matt Donchez contributed with two hits, and Tommy Ajjan added a solo home run in the seventh.

Conroy was stellar on the mound, allowing just four hits over 6 2/3 innings, walking four, and striking out five. Versaci completed the shutout with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

The Knights advance to the winners bracket and will face host No. 6 Johns Hopkins tomorrow. Due to rain in the forecast, the start time has tentatively been pushed back to 4:00 p.m.

In other Division III Tournament action
Immaculata narrowly lost their opening game in Regionals, falling 3-2 to No. 10 Christopher Newport in a grueling fifteen-inning contest, the second-longest in Immaculata program history.

Jason Hughes was outstanding on the mound for the Mighty Macs, pitching 8.1 innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs, while striking out five.

With the game tied at 2-2, Christopher Newport knotted it up in the bottom of the ninth with a pair of singles. Immaculata then brought in Stephen DiBattista to relieve Hughes and navigate out of the jam. Sal Serici made a spectacular diving catch in right field to prevent a walk-off hit and send the game into extra innings.

Matthew Long took loss in relief, dropping to 2-4 on the season. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up five hits and one earned run while striking out four.

The Mighty Macs will face Scranton on Saturday morning in an elimination game.
