Jefferson Baseball
In a tense battle that saw Jefferson and Post deadlocked in a 3-3 tie as the ninth inning unfolded on Saturday, it was a display of clutch hitting that ultimately propelled the Eagles to a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Rams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game held in Waterbury, Conn.

The Rams surged out of the gates with a fiery start, as Joshua Lopez's two-run double in the bottom of the first inning swiftly propelled Jefferson into an early lead. Building on this momentum, Chris McLean's powerful double down the left line added another run for the Rams, solidifying their advantage at 3-0 after three innings.

However, Post quickly countered, mounting a determined comeback by scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning to level the score at 3-3. The game remained deadlocked until the ninth inning, when a pivotal moment unfolded. A well-placed single down the left line drove in a crucial run, propelling the Eagles ahead with a narrow 4-3 lead.

Despite the Rams' last-ditch effort, with the potential tying run stationed on third base and the winning run on second, their hopes were dashed as a ground out to the pitcher concluded the exhilarating contest, securing the CACC Championship victory for Post.

Marquise Wood showcased his batting prowess with three hits in a valiant effort for the Rams.

With the conclusion of the CACC Championship weekend, the Rams now turn their attention to the NCAA Selection Show, where their postseason fate will be unveiled. The anticipation mounts as the selection process for each region commences on Sunday, May 12 at 10:30 p.m., leaving the Rams eagerly awaiting their next chapter in the postseason journey.
