West Chester Baseball
To defeat any team four straight times is a difficult task, but to take down the No. 7 team in the nation while battling for postseason positioning is a whole other type of challenge. Yet, that's what No. 17 West Chester did over the last two days, sweeping a four-game set from No. 7 Millersville.

The four victories extended the Golden Rams' winning streak to six games and allowed the club to secure the No. 2 seed in the East Division for the PSAC tournament that will begin next Friday on the campus of Slippery Rock.

Unofficially, it appears West Chester will host Mercyhurst in the opening round.

Evan Profy collected two hits and scored a pair of runs in the second contest on Friday, while Avery Spencer and Sean Szestowicki drove in two runs each in an 8-6 victory. Kyle Kearns tossed 3 1/3 scoreless frames, allowing just two hits.

West Chester finishes the regular season riding a six-game winning streak. The 39 regular season wins is the most since the 2017 season when the club won 44 contests while going on to win a national championship.

Anthony Boccio led the Golden Rams at the plate on the season, posting a .415 batting average to go along with a 1.197 OPS. Profy also played a pivotal role, hitting .367 while swiping 20 bases.

On the mound, Julian Costa started 11 games and posted a 2.73 ERA, while Joe Sperone also pieced together a solid season with a 3.54 ERA over 12 starts.
