McCausland tossed six frames, scattering three hits and walked just one batter.
The victory improved the Hawks to 2-0 on the season. The club will travel to Presbyterian for a contest on Saturday.

Despite a spirited late-game surge, Villanova fell short to Davidson, concluding with a score of 11-8. Jason Neff sparked hope with three hits and two RBIs from the lead-off spot, while Villanova rallied for six runs in the eighth inning.
However, reliever Jake Francis absorbed the loss, allowing one run on two hits and three walks across 1 2/3 innings. Villanova's pitching staff continues to grapple with a challenging 10.41 cumulative ERA through four games this season.
