In other Philadelphia DI baseball action:
Abilene Christian edged past Penn with a 4-3 victory. Relief pitcher Eli Trop initially held a slim one-run lead entering the ninth but faltered, conceding a lead-off single followed by a game-deciding two-run walk-off homer. Penn's offensive effort was led by the top of their lineup, as Connor Chavez, Davis Baker, and Wyatt Henseler combined for six hits out of the team's 11, collectively batting .500 with two RBIs.

Despite a spirited late-game surge, Villanova fell short to Davidson, concluding with a score of 11-8. Jason Neff sparked hope with three hits and two RBIs from the lead-off spot, while Villanova rallied for six runs in the eighth inning. However, reliever Jake Francis absorbed the loss, allowing one run on two hits and three walks across 1 2/3 innings. Villanova's pitching staff continues to grapple with a challenging 10.41 cumulative ERA through four games this season.
