Phillies beat Red Sox 
Whit Merrifield hit a two-run homer in the third inning, and Aramis Garcia hit a two-run shot to highlight a three-run sixth for the Phillies on Monday afternoon in a 7-6 loss to the Red Sox in Fort Myers. Darick Hall also homered in the loss. 
 
Right-hander David Buchanan ran into trouble in the first two innings, surrendering two runs on four hits. He walked one and whiffed a pair. Connor Brogdon also struggled, issuing three walks while recording just two outs. 
 
The winning run for Boston crossed the plate in the ninth following an Andrew Schultz wild pitch. The two teams used a combined 17 pitchers on the afternoon. 
 
Relievers Noah Skirrow, Tristan Garnett, and Schultz combined to allow five hits and four runs over the final 1 2/3 innings of the contest. 
 
 The Phillies will return to Fort Myers on Tuesday for a contest against the Twins. Cristopher Sanchez will start for the Philadelphia.
