West Chester opens the 2024 season this weekend as the No. 21
team in the nation per this week's NCBWA poll. The program was left out
of the Top 25 last week.
Holy Family will make history on Saturday
as the program will debut with a doubleheader on Saturday against
Virginia St.
Led by several returning stars, including the Atlantic East Pitcher of
the Year in Jason Hughes, Immaculata opens their 2024 campaign with a
doubleheader on Friday at Rutgers-Camden.
Penn, again considered to be favorites to repeat as Ivy League
champions, opens with a series against Abilene Christian. The Rally Cats
and Quakers have never faced each other. ACU opened the year taking
three-of-four from Northern Illinois, but have dropped two straight,
including an 8-4 loss on Wednesday to Oklahoma State.
Arcadia opened their season with an impressive 13-3 win over Ursinus on
Wednesday. The Knights will now travel to Baltimore for a gauntlet of a
weekend, including a pair of games against No. 3 Baldwin Wallace and a
single contest against No. 1 Johns Hopkins. Though early, these games
could play a major factor at the end of the season as it relates to
tournament bids.
