Arcadia baseball
Arcadia commenced their 2024 season on a high note, securing a convincing 13-3 victory against Ursinus College in a non-conference matchup in Collegeville on Wednesday afternoon.

Head coach Chuck Thielmann marked his debut with the Knights by clinching his first NCAA win. The game saw a solid performance from Arcadia's offense, with standout moments including Tommy Ajjan's three-run homer in the opening inning, which paved the way for an early lead.

Additionally, contributions from Matt Sot and Gabe Diaz helped bolster Arcadia's lead as they continued to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Matt Donchez crossed the plate three times while Ajjan finished with four RBIs on the afternoon.

Solomon Griffith, who played at Ursinus for four years as an undergraduate, finished 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Pitcher Trevor Laraia played a pivotal role in maintaining the team's momentum, securing the win with two scoreless innings on the mound.

Andrew Richter led the Ursinus offense, finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

With this impressive victory under their belt, Arcadia looks forward to their upcoming matchups, including a non-conference game against No. 3 ranked Baldwin Wallace on Saturday before facing Baldwin Wallace and No. 1 Johns Hopkins on Sunday.

Ursinius will host Marywood on Wednesday.
