NOTES
Widener (0-2) dropped both games against No. 7 Shenandoah last weekend. Things won't get easier this weekend with a pair of games on Saturday against No. 10 SUNY-Cortland and No. 2 Salisbury. Head coach Kevin Burdick believes this tough schedule early on will benefit his club down the stretch and in conference play.

"We see the best teams now, we see what they can do, it'll show us what we need to do to get better," Burdick said.

Villanova (0-0) has faced University of Incarnate Word just once, dropping a 7-3 contest in San Antonio as part of the Irish Alamo Invitational in February of 2015. The Cardinals were 28-26 last season and finished 14-10 in the Southland Conference.

Saturday could be an emotional day for Arcadia's Solomon Griffith. The graduate student transfer spent his undergraduate career with Ursinus where he posted a .360 career batting average with 49 RBIs and 38 stolen bases. The two programs will face each other on Saturday.

Cairn is a program seemingly on the upswing. Head coach Brett Marks seems comfortable in his role and the roster has some solid talent, led by junior catcher Tyler Warr. The club has a tough opening day opponent on Friday when it visits Cabrini (1-0).
