Ryan Cesarini, a junior designated hitter at Saint Joseph's University, has been selected for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason All-America Third Team. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the association.
A native of Archbald, Pa., Cesarini's standout performance during the 2023 season earned him recognition on the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region First Team and the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team.
In the previous season, Cesarini led the Atlantic 10 Conference in batting average with .392. He also topped various statistical categories for his team, including hits, doubles, runs batted in, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage. His contributions helped Saint Joseph's University secure its first-ever Atlantic 10 regular-season championship.
Cesarini was recognized on Monday by the Philadelphia Baseball Review as a member of its Preseason All-Philly Region Team.
The Hawks are scheduled to begin their 2024 season on Friday, February 16, with a game against Canisius at Smithson Field. Cesarini's continued excellence on the field will undoubtedly be a key factor in the team's success this season.
