Swarthmore beats top-ranked Wooster
Swarthmore hit a bit of a stumbling block over the weekend with a pair of losses in their opening weekend, but the Garnet bounced back in a big way on Monday with a win over No. 1 Wooster down in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Cole Beeker collected five RBIs on the evening, including a two-run double that highlighted a five-run seventh inning, to carry the Garnet to a 13-6 win.

Jared Gillen finished 3-for-4 with four runs scored, and Holden Bridge chipped in with three hits and a stolen base.

Trailing 3-2 entering the seventh inning, the Garnet offense erupted for 11 runs over the next two frames to put the contest out of reach.

Jack Corkery received the win, tossing six innings while surrendering three runs on four hits. He walked a pair and struck out eight. Zach Gonzalez picked up the three-inning save to go along with three strikeouts.

The Garnet are now 3-2 on the season and are set to play a doubleheader on Tuesday with contests against SUNY-Canton and Susquehanna.
