GAMES OF MARCH 3, 2019

Albany 6, La Salle 5 (GM 1, 10 Inn.): Reliever Erik Janss encountered trouble in the 10th while Matt Rivera committed a throwing error from behind the plate on a sac-bunt ultimately allowing the visitors to take a two-run lead. The Explorers answered with Ben Faso crossing the plate in the bottom of the frame, but La Salle fell short. Rivera homered for the Explorers and drove in a pair in the losing effort.

La Salle 9, Albany 0: Aidan Frye picked up his first collegiate win and it was a beauty, tossing a seven-inning complete game shutout while surrendering just three hits. He struck out eight. Peyton Sorrels led the offense, finishing 4-for-4 with two RBIs, a stolen base, and two runs scored. Ben Faso chipped in with four RBIs.

Dartmouth 4, Saint Joseph's 2: Dominic Cuoci collected two of the Hawks' five hits on the afternoon, both as doubles. Brendan Hueth finished 1-for-3 with two walks and scored a run. Mike Falco took the loss, surrendering two runs in three innings of relief.

Chicago State 13, Villanova 9 (GM 1): John Heilenbach homered and picked up three RBIs. Chris Rotondo finished 1-for-3 with three walks. Dylan McNary and Doug deMarrais also homered in the losing effort. Nick Lorusso surrendered three runs over five innings, collecting five strikeouts.

Mt. Saint Mary's 19, Villanova 16 (GM 2): Timothy Lilly hit a pair of homers, including a grand slam, and finished with eight RBIs in the losing effort. Will Reiner finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.

Gannon 6, USciences 4 (GM 1): No information available.

Gannon 14, USciences 7 (GM 2): No information available.

Florida Memorial 11, Chestnut Hill 3: Franklin Ramirez finished 2-for-2 with a double and scored two runs for the Griffins. Sam Barletta collected a hit, a run, and a stolen base in the loss.

Gwynedd Mercy 19, King's 6 (GM 1): The Griffins jumped out to a 10-0 lead through three innings. Dave Tatoian and Justin Curtain each collected three RBIs in the win. Gino Tripodi secured the win, surrendering five runs - four earned - over five innings. He struck out four.

Gwynedd Mercy 6. King's 4 (GM 2): Dave Tatoian finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI while Nick Mulvey and Tommy Nardini each collected two hits in the winning effort.

Neumann 2, Clark 1 (10 Inn.): John Lindeborn finished 3-for-5 and drove in the winning run in the 10th with an RBI-single to left field. Nick Glebocki tossed seven strong innings for the Knights, surrendering one run on six hits. He struck out seven. Jared Morris collected the win, hurling three scoreless innings in relief.

Widener 3, Bridgewater 0 (GM 1): Dylan Peiffer tossed a seven-inning complete game shutout for the Pride with nine strikeouts, scattering five hits while not surrendering a walk. Stephen DeBellis collected a pair of RBIs in the win.

Widener 10, Bridgewater 4 (GM 2, 10 Inn.): Stephen DeBellis collected four hits in the nightcap, including a solo shot in the 10th that ultimately proved to be the game-winner. Joey Norton tossed 4 2/3 scoreless innings in relief for the Pride. Tommy Scharnikow chipped in with two hits.
