McGowan, Larsen, and Holcomb earn weekly honors
The Philadelphia Baseball Review released its Division-I College Player of the Week awards on Monday for the period ending March 10.

Penn freshman first baseman Craig Larsen and La Salle senior third baseman Kevin McGowan have been co-named as the Philadelphia Baseball Review's Hitter of the Week, while Penn junior right-hander Mitchell Holcomb has been named the Philadelphia Baseball Review's Pitcher of the Week.

Larsen went 8-for-19 (.421) in an impressive week and helped the Quakers sweep a two-game series from nationally ranked Duke. The freshman finished with six RBIs, three doubles, a homer, four walks, and a stolen base.

McGowan finished the week 8-for-15 (.533) for the Explorers, scoring six runs in a four-game weekend series with New Mexico State. He knocked in four runs, doubled, and walked three times.

Holcomb recorded a win for the Quakers over Winthrop on Sunday, tossing seven strong innings while surrendering one run on six hits. He walked two and whiffed five.

The Philadelphia Baseball Review names winners each Monday throughout the college season.
