West Chester - Philadelphia Baseball Review
No. 12/20/22 West Chester rebounded from a Friday split to sweep Mansfield in Saturday’s doubleheader, winning 9–0 and 10–0 to secure its first PSAC East series victory of the season.

The Golden Rams (16–3, 3–1) leaned on dominant pitching throughout the day. Kyle Lazer set the tone in Game 1, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just four hits and striking out five.

West Chester built an early lead and never looked back. A double steal and RBI single keyed a two-run first inning, and the offense steadily added on with contributions throughout the lineup. Extra-base hits and productive outs helped stretch the lead to 9–0.

Game 2 followed a similar script. After taking a 1–0 lead in the third, West Chester broke the game open with a five-run fourth, capitalizing on pressure situations and timely hitting. The Golden Rams added four more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

Kyle Rogers was equally effective, allowing just three hits over six shutout innings. The sweep was powered by a balanced attack and two shutout pitching performances, as West Chester outscored Mansfield 31–7 over the final three games of the series.

In other action, Jefferson completed a dominant Saturday sweep of Bridgeport, pairing a 12–2 Game 1 victory with an even more emphatic 16–3 win in the nightcap behind relentless offense and strong pitching. In the opener, the Rams set the tone early and never let up. Beato Mora drove in four runs, Aleksei Goldhill collected three hits and two RBIs, and Tripp Capers went 4-for-4. On the mound, Saiben Rivera was dominant, tossing a complete game while allowing just three hits and two runs.

Game 2 followed a similar script—only louder.

After Bridgeport grabbed an early lead and briefly tied the game in the third, Jefferson exploded for 13 unanswered runs. The decisive stretch came in the fifth, when the Rams scored six runs to seize control. They followed with four more in the sixth, highlighted by home runs from Capers and Thomas Matuszewski, and added three in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Jefferson again finished with 14 hits, with contributions throughout the lineup. Kyle Kozlowski drove in two runs, Julio Frometa Gomez added two RBIs, and Andrew Holub sparked the offense with a key two-run double.
