La Salle baseball - Philadelphia Baseball Review
La Salle broke open a tight game with a six-run fourth inning and rode a strong pitching performance to an 8–2 victory over Davidson on Saturday.

The Explorers set the tone early when Kosei Suzuki launched a solo home run to right field in the first inning, giving La Salle a quick 1–0 lead.

Davidson answered in the second. An RBI single from T. Loughlin tied the game, and the Wildcats took a 2–1 lead moments later when a run scored on a ground-ball double play.

That advantage didn’t last long.

La Salle delivered the decisive blow in the fourth inning, sending 10 men to the plate and scoring six runs to take control. Daniel Perez provided the biggest swing of the day, crushing a grand slam to right field to put the Explorers ahead 5–2. Later in the inning, Carter Groen added a two-run double, extending the lead to 7–2.

From there, La Salle’s pitching staff took over.

Starter Jace Terry settled in after the second inning, finishing five innings while allowing two runs on three hits. He worked through traffic early—issuing four walks—but limited damage and struck out six to earn his first win of the season.

Hudson Narke followed with three scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out four, and Titus Shay closed the game with a clean ninth, striking out two to complete the combined seven-hit effort.

La Salle added an insurance run in the eighth when Groen delivered again, doubling to right field and later advancing to third on a Davidson error as Chase Swain scored to make it 8–2.

Groen led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Perez’s grand slam accounted for half of La Salle’s runs. Suzuki added a home run and scored twice as part of an eight-hit attack that also drew seven walks.
