DeSales baseball - Philadelphia Baseball Review
The road to the NCAA Division III College World Series is heading through DeSales University this weekend.

For the first time since 2008, the Bulldogs are hosting an NCAA Regional, adding another milestone to what has already become one of the most significant seasons in program history.

The regional opens Friday with DeSales (33-12) facing Ramapo College while Salve Regina University meets Marymount University in the other opening-round matchup. The double-elimination regional continues through the weekend, with the winner advancing to the Super Regional round.

Much of the turnaround has come under first-year head coach Bryan Torresani, whose roots throughout the Philadelphia baseball landscape run deep.

Torresani officially took over the DeSales program in the summer of 2025 after longtime head coach Tim Neiman retired. Before arriving in Center Valley, Torresani spent seven highly successful seasons at Arcadia University, where he transformed the Knights into one of the top Division III programs in the Mid-Atlantic region.

During his tenure at Arcadia, Torresani compiled a 187-91 overall record, won four MAC championships and twice hosted NCAA Regionals. His 2022 club won a program-record 40 games and advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals, a season that earned him ABCA Region IV Coach of the Year, D3Baseball.com Region Coach of the Year and MAC Freedom Coach of the Year honors.

His connections throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania baseball extend even further. Torresani previously served as head coach at Immaculata University, worked on staff at La Salle University and spent five years as assistant head coach at Chestnut Hill College.

Now, in his first season leading DeSales, he has guided the Bulldogs back into national relevance.

And fittingly, the roster itself carries a strong Philadelphia-area identity.

Senior outfielder JT Anderosky, a Warrington native and Central Bucks South graduate, enters the NCAA Tournament hitting .415 with 76 hits, 61 runs scored and 34 stolen bases. His all-around production earned him MAC Freedom Player of the Year honors earlier this week.

Freshman catcher Dominic Berretta, a Chalfont native and Central Bucks West product, has become another key contributor in the middle of the lineup, driving in 24 runs with three home runs during his first collegiate season.

Freshman infielder Kevin Brace, a North Penn graduate, has quietly emerged as one of the more productive bats in the DeSales lineup this spring. Brace enters NCAA Regional play hitting .339 with 57 hits, 14 doubles, 43 RBIs and an .876 OPS while starting all 45 games for the Bulldogs.

Senior first baseman Shane Anhalt of Newtown and Council Rock North has added veteran depth and on-base ability, posting a .417 OBP this spring.

Philadelphia itself is represented as well through freshman infielder Narayana Weld out of La Salle College High School and freshman pitcher Nick Wolf from Father Judge.

The Bulldogs are making their 10th NCAA Tournament appearance overall and seeking their first regional title since 2003, when DeSales advanced all the way to the Division III College World Series.

Now, nearly two decades later, another Philadelphia-area core has a chance to push the program back onto the national stage.
