Penn State-Abington trumped by Rowan
It was a morning of firsts for Penn State-Abington as the Nittany Lions participated in the program's first-ever NCAA tournament contest, however, the outcome was lopsided and not in a good way.

Rowan, the No. 7 team in the nation, throttled the Nittany Lions 18-2. The Profs inflicted most of their damage in the third frame, scoring 10 runs to break the contest wide open.

The Nittany Lions didn't score a run until the ninth inning when two runs were forced in via a pair of bases-loaded walks. Jaden Himmelreich finished with two of Penn State-Abington's five hits on the day.

Ryan McCarty suffered the loss, surrendering 13 hits and 10 runs over three innings of work.

The Nittany Lions will face No. 10 Salisbury on Saturday morning in an elimination contest. The two clubs faced each other in the regular season back in mid-April with the Sea Gulls coming out on top, 9-1.

The winner of Saturday's game will play another elimination game later in the day with the regional final set for Sunday.
