Swarthmore Baseball
Swarthmore used a seven-run surge in the middle innings to power past Stockton, 9-3, in a seven-inning non-conference matchup on Friday. The game was called early due to darkness.

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, the Garnet briefly fell behind in the third when the Ospreys plated three runs. Swarthmore responded by shutting down Stockton the rest of the way, outscoring them 7-0.

Matthew Silvestre led the charge, going 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBIs, two runs, and two stolen bases. Max Roffwarg finished 2-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, and two runs, while Wilson Henze contributed two hits, an RBI, and a run. Jeremy Jensen pitched 3.2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win.

Elsewhere, Gwynedd Mercy (3-2) hosted Penn State Abington in another non-conference battle. Offense was scarce through the first seven innings, but the bats exploded in the eighth, with both teams combining for 11 runs. The Nittany Lions struck first, scoring four to take a 6-2 lead, but the Griffins responded in dramatic fashion, plating seven runs to secure a 9-6 comeback victory.

Freshman Brayden Scott delivered another strong outing in his second career start, tossing seven innings while allowing two earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in a no-decision.
