Each week throughout the college baseball season, the Philadelphia Baseball Review recognizes standout performances from across all divisions with our Philadelphia Baseball Review College Player and Pitcher of the Week honors. This spotlight celebrates the top hitters and pitchers who delivered exceptional performances, showcasing the depth of talent across the region’s collegiate programs.
Colton Book earns our D-I Pitcher of the Week honors after a dominant outing for Saint Joseph’s on Saturday. The right-hander tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out 14. To say the Manheim native has made an early impact on Hawk Hill would be an understatement—through his first two career starts, he has yet to allow a run over 13 innings, surrendering only two hits while striking out an incredible 55% of the batters he’s faced.
On the offensive side, Villanova’s Jason Neff claims our D-I Offensive Player of the Week award. The Wildcats’ slugger went 6-for-11 with three home runs over the weekend, helping Villanova take two of three from Winthrop. He also drove in seven runs, providing a major spark for the Wildcats' lineup.
