Will Seiler
For Will Seiler, the road to college baseball didn’t take him far. In fact, it brought him right back home.

The Council Rock North right-hander — who also plays infield for Bucks County Ghost in the Philly Select Collegiate League — has committed to La Salle University, becoming part of the program’s rebirth after it was cut in 2021 due to pandemic-related budget constraints. Now, with the program restored, Seiler is ready to help lead it into a new era.

“I’ve been going to La Salle my whole life,” Seiler said. “That’s where my dad went. I grew up going to basketball games, so I’ve just always been around the environment.”

His father, Chris Seiler, ranks among the top pitchers in program history — still listed in the school’s all-time top 10 for ERA and saves. For the Seiler family, this commitment isn’t just about baseball. It’s about legacy.

“My heart was in that university for so many years,” Chris said. “There was a stretch when my three oldest may have thought La Salle was the only college in America.”

He laughed, then added, “Thinking about what it’s going to be like next year, seeing him put that uniform on — it means a lot.”

Will wasn’t handed anything. He took initiative, reaching out to returning head coach David Miller — the 2021 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year — who recently returned to La Salle after two seasons at Manhattan. Miller led the Explorers to a 32–21 finish in 2021, their best record in a decade and the most wins in school history.

Before making his decision, Seiler explored other options. He spoke with Division II schools like Bloomsburg and Thomas Jefferson and attended a camp at Division I Charleston Southern. But La Salle kept pulling at his heart.

“He just kept coming back to me saying, ‘Dad, you don’t want me to go to La Salle?’” Chris recalled. “And I told him, I’d love it — but I want you to start your own life.”

Ultimately, that life circled right back to where it began.

“I really felt at home there,” Will said. “When I heard they were bringing the program back, I said I’d love to play for them.”

The family recently visited campus for orientation. As they walked the same halls and dorms Chris once called home, the weight of the moment was impossible to ignore.

“He’s going to be in the same dorm where I was an RA,” Chris said. “I’m looking around thinking, is this really real?”

Will has more than just legacy on his side — he’s got the numbers. Perfect Game ranks him among the top 50 right-handed pitchers in Pennsylvania. Through five starts this summer, he’s 4–0 with a 1.42 ERA and 28 strikeouts across 19 2/3 innings. Opponents are hitting just .200 against him.

“He’s been absolutely dominant,” said Ghost head coach Jarrett Patman. "When he toes the rubber we know we have a chance to win the game. He throws four pitches for a strike, keeps lineups off balanced. When we go to him, we expect to win.”

That was the case again Thursday night, when Seiler led the Ghost to an 8–6 win over Rake.

On the season, Seiler has posted a dazzling 1.42 ERA in five starts spanning 19 2/3 innings. He is 4-0 with 28 strikeouts to just nine walks while holding opponents to a .200 batting average.

“He leads. He has a quiet presence about him, but he leads with how he attacks the game and his teammates get behind that. He’s a special kid and a terrific ballplayer,” Patman said.

La Salle’s 2025–26 recruiting class is still coming together, but it’s already anchored by a familiar name. A name that still means something at 20th and Olney.

“I feel like La Salle really wanted me,” Will said. “And I really like the coaches. I’m excited to start up for them.”
