The Bucks County Ghost ran wild on the basepaths, played error-free defense, and turned a double play. But it still wasn’t enough to keep up with the Philly Fightin Quakers, who rode an early burst of offense and a dominant start on the mound to a 4-2 win in New Hope on Monday night.

The Quakers opened the scoring in the second on a Nick Moyer triple, then padded the lead in the third with a three-run rally. Stone Powell singled to center. Joel Bonner knocked one through the right side. Mikey Amrhein drew a bases-loaded walk. Just like that, it was 4-0—and that was all the offense the Quakers would need.

Justus Agosto was nearly untouchable. The right-hander tossed six shutout innings, striking out nine and allowing just three hits to earn the win. He walked two and danced around some traffic but never let the Ghosts find a rhythm.

Richie Bayachek took the loss for Bucks County, charged with four runs on five hits over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked two.

The Ghosts chipped away late. Will Seiler and Mike Burns each drove in a run, while Jimmy Casey, Zach Linn, and Nick Shiffler chipped in with base hits. Jake Ruple and Ryan Brown combined for four stolen bases, part of a five-steal night for the Ghosts. Burns was busy behind the plate and led the club with nine defensive chances.

Bonner finished 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Quakers, while Amrhein, Powell, and Moyer also each drove in a run. The Quakers didn’t commit an error, with Frank Provenzano matching Burns’ mark of nine defensive chances to anchor a clean effort in the field.
