Contoudis and Rice earn D2 Player of the Week honors
Each Monday during the regular season, the Philadelphia Baseball Review will honor a Division-II Player and Pitcher of the Week. These honors are not based entirely on statistics, but rather the value delivered by a player throughout the week.

For the week ending on March 1, the Philadelphia Baseball Review recognizes Chestnut Hill junior outfielder John Contoudis as Player of the Week and West Chester junior Zach Rice as Pitcher of the Week.

Contoudis finished the weekend 8-for-12 (.667) for the Griffins. He drove in seven runs, scored four times, hit three doubles, and stole three bases. He also struck out just once in 14 plate appearances.

Rice tossed a complete game on Sunday in a 3-1 victory of St. Thomas Aquinas. He scattered two hits while surrendering just one unearned run. He walked three and struck out five.

Founded in 2006, the Philadelphia Baseball Review covers all aspects of baseball in the Philadelphia region.
