Faso and Holcomb secure weekly honors from The Review

Ben Faso and Mitchell Holcomb win weekly honors from Philadelphia Baseball Review
The Philadelphia Baseball Review released its College Player of the Week awards for the period ending May 14.

La Salle junior first baseman Ben Faso was named the Philadelphia Baseball Review's Hitter of the Week while Penn sophomore right-handed pitcher Mitchell Holcomb was named Philadelphia Baseball Review's Pitcher of the Week.

The Philadelphia Baseball Review names winners each Monday throughout the college season.

Faso finished the week for the Explorers 5-for-13 (.385) with three doubles and drove in a pair of runs over the weekend. The honor marks the fourth time this season he's been recognized by the Philadelphia Baseball Review.

Holcomb tossed 7 2/3 innings for the Quakers on Sunday in a 2-1 road win over Yale. He scattered eight hits while striking out a season-high 12. This marks the second time this season he's been recognized by The Philadelphia Baseball Review.

Founded in 2006, the Philadelphia Baseball Review covers all aspects of baseball in Philadelphia region.
