Phillies set to battle Mets
The Phillies are hosting the Mets this weekend at Citizens Bank Park in a crucial series that could have significant impacts on postseason chances for both clubs.

The Phillies enter Friday with the second-lowest winning percentage (.357), behind only the Pirates (.235). The club sits four games behind the division-leading Marlins in the NL East and a game behind the third-place Mets.

"Things are only going to get harder," manager Joe Girardi said following the club's loss to the Orioles on Thursday night.

Rookie Spencer Howard will start tonight's contest aiming to improve upon his debut this past Sunday where he surrendered four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings. Girardi said he's willing to let him throw about 90 pitches tonight.

The Mets, meanwhile, are scrambling. Jacob deGrom was originally set to start, but he's been scratched and the club hasn't announced a replacement.

Tonight's lineup
McCutchen DH
Hoskins 3
Harper 9
Realmuto 2
Gregorius 6
Segura 4
Bruce 7
Bohm 5
Quinn 8
