Freddy Galvis is hitting just .225 this season and just .143 when in the leadoff position.
Manager Pete Mackanin pieced together the Phillies 11th different lineup of the season in Saturday's 8-1 loss to the Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. Through 12 games, he's already in a position where he's running out of lineup possibilities.

Entering Sunday, the Phillies are averaging an NL-worst 2.58 runs per game. The only team in baseball with a lower offensive output is Minnesota at 2.27.

"Of course, it's frustrating," Mackanin said. "But we need to keep pushing and try and make something happen."

For the offense to turn around, the top of the lineup needs to begin producing. Entering Sunday, the Phillies have a league worst .268 OPS out of the leadoff spot and are one of only two teams yet to draw a leadoff walk.

Things are not much better in the outfield where the Phillies rank second to last with a .524 OPS while hitting just .164.

"There's not much more tinkering I can do," Mackanin said.

Today's Phillies Lineup
1. Freddy Galvis, 6
2. Cesar Hernandez, 4
3. Odubel Herrera, 8
4. Maikel Franco, 5
5. Darin Ruf, 3
6. Carlos Ruiz, 2
7. Peter Bourjos, 9
8. Tyler Goeddel, 7
