Tyler Neeld was nearly untouchable on Saturday, coming within two outs of a complete game shutout as Council Rock Newtown cruised to a 5-0 victory over Salem in a Little League World Series elimination game at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport.
Neeld allowed just two hits and struck out eight before handing the ball to Brayden Peiffer, who recorded the final two outs.
The pivotal moment came in the fourth inning when Gavin Caudill delivered a two-run double, capping a four-run frame that put Council Rock Newtown firmly in control. With the win, they advance to face South Hill Little League from Puyallup, Washington, in another elimination game on Sunday.
