Philadelphia College Baseball Notebook
La Salle (26-15, 9-3) is putting together one of the finest seasons in program history and currently sit one game ahead of Saint Joseph's (14-12, 8-4) in the Atlantic 10 North Division. The two clubs will meet for a four-game set this weekend at Hank DeVincent Field. The two teams will face each other eight times before the regular season concludes on May 22.

 Villanova (15-11, 3-9) will face Georgetown on Friday at Citizens Bank Park. It'll mark the first time since 2015 that the Wildcats will have played in South Philly and the sixth time overall. Each of the five previous games the Wildcats have played at Citizens Bank Park have been championship games in the Liberty Bell Classic. 

Villanova is coming off its first BIG EAST series win since 2017 after taking two of three games at home from Xavier last weekend. 

Jefferson (21-10, 18-7) will host Wilmington on Monday in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference quarterfinal. The Rams swept the three-game regular-season series between the two clubs. Senior Richard Joa has put together an outstanding season at the plate, hitting .402 with eight homers and 38 RBIs. On the mound, the Rams have surrendered nearly two runs less per game than their opponents.

USciences (9-14, 9-14) will travel to Chestnut Hill (17-13, 13-9) on Saturday for a CACC first-round game. The winner will move on to face top-seeded Goldey-Beacom on Monday. 

D3Baseball.com has Penn State-Abington (18-3, 14-2) as the top-seeded team in the Mid-Atlantic region rankings. Immaculata (17-4, 13-3) is ranked sixth. The Nittany Lions will face Penn College in a best-of-three series beginning Sunday at Alverthorpe Park. 

Arcadia (21-10, 19-9) will face Misericordia in a three-game series beginning Saturday in a MAC Freedom Semifinal. Sophomore Justin Massielo launched a two-run double in the eighth inning of Game 3 this past Sunday to lift the Knights past Wilkes in the MAC Freedom opening round. 

Eastern (10-15, 7-9) travels to York College on Saturday to open a best-of-three MAC Commonwealth Semifinal. The Eagles haven't been in the playoffs since the 2015 season.
