Philly Select League - Philadelphia Baseball Review
The bottom of the lineup delivered a significant spark Wednesday night as Philly Bandits Red College defeated Total Skills Tropics 18U, 7-2, in Philly Select League action.

Ryan Price, Jacob Greer and Logan Madison combined for four of the Bandits' seven hits, scored three runs and drove in four more as Philly Bandits Red College built an early lead and never looked back.

The Bandits struck first in the opening inning when Aidan Zakarewicz launched a solo home run to left field.

They broke the game open an inning later with a four-run second. Price doubled home a run before Greer followed with a two-run homer to left. Zakarewicz later added an RBI groundout as the Bandits stretched the advantage to 5-0.

Total Skills battled back with two runs, but the Bandits added insurance in the fifth when Brett Barrett connected for a solo home run to center field.

Austin Ludwig earned the victory, allowing two runs on two hits over three innings while striking out four and walking three. Owen Wheeler and Greer combined for two shutout relief innings to help secure the win.

Greer, hitting out of the No. 8 spot in the lineup, paced the Bandits with two hits in three at-bats. He and Zakarewicz each drove in two runs.

For Total Skills, Jack Hogenauer collected two hits in three at-bats to lead the offense. Hogenauer and Colin Lydon each drove in a run.

Brody Lykes took the loss for Total Skills after allowing five runs on four hits over two innings. Kyle Schiwall provided four innings of relief, surrendering two runs on three hits while striking out one.

The two clubs will meet again Monday when Total Skills travels to face Philly Bandits Red College in a rematch.

Elsewhere, the Philly Mummers used patience at the plate, aggressive baserunning and dominant pitching to roll past ASSA Futures Collegiate Team, 11-0, on Wednesday in Philly Select League action.

The Mummers opened the scoring in the second inning when Preston Martin ripped a triple on a full count to bring home the game's first run.

They added three more runs in the third, capitalizing on their disciplined approach at the plate. Billy Zentmeyer and Ryan Frey each drew RBI walks before Michael Cummings added a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 4-0.

The game broke open in the sixth when the Mummers plated five runs. Denny Fife was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Cummings and Jake Andrews each worked RBI walks, and Martin delivered the biggest blow of the inning with a two-run single.

Martin enjoyed a standout performance, collecting two hits and driving in three runs from the No. 8 spot in the lineup. Jude Hamilton and James Quici also recorded two hits apiece, while Cummings and Frey each finished with two RBIs.

The Mummers' offense showed remarkable patience throughout the evening, drawing 13 walks while swiping seven bases. Zentmeyer and Cummings each stole multiple bases.

On the mound, Martin helped set the tone before the bullpen took over. Logan Hinds, Pat Barrett and Reed Curtier combined to throw scoreless relief innings as the Mummers completed the shutout.

ASSA Futures managed just two hits, with Evan Schofield and Brandon Dunbar accounting for one apiece. Paul Daly stole two bases.

Patrick McNerney took the loss for ASSA Futures after allowing six runs on six hits over five innings.

Philly Mummers will travel to face Rake Baseball on Tuesday, while ASSA Futures Collegiate Team visits Fightin Quakers on Monday.
